The sea is the most punishing place a crane can work. Salt, spray and constant vessel motion attack every joint and surface at once, and a failure offshore is a failure with nowhere to turn. PESCI Marine knuckle booms are engineered for exactly this.
Every unit carries a dedicated protection package against salt, spray and corrosion: abrasive blast to Sa 2.5, a hot-dip galvanized structural frame, and a three-coat marine epoxy system, with A4 stainless steel on every exposed pin, fitting and fastener. The result is certified to 1,000 hours of salt-spray resistance to ISO 9227.
A double-rack rotation system delivers exceptional slewing performance under load, and a deliberately light structure gives the highest resistance to stress. Weight is placed where the sea puts the load, not spread as dead mass the vessel has to carry.
The range is designed and load-tested for real sea states, up to Beaufort 8 on the M Top Range, with dynamic coefficients for vessel motion and wave-induced inertia applied throughout the structure. Active Heave Compensation cancels vertical motion for safe transfer in wave heights up to three metres.
Full DNV type approval comes as standard, with ABS and Bureau Veritas on request, so a new installation reaches vessel classification without a detour. ATEX Zone 1 electrical packages extend the same cranes to tankers, LNG carriers and hazardous offshore decks.
PESCI has built lifting equipment in Italy since 1860. That engineering tradition now carries the PESCI name to sea, where the limits are set by the ocean, not by the crane.
